Currently, the members of the Axiom team are engaged in various consultancy and research projects spanning a breadth of industrial sectors.
Dr. Hamlet and Dr. Irwin are currently developing a two-day HeliNOTS masterclass, designed to take practitioners within safety-critical industries through an in-depth human factors course. The prototype course covers the basics of human factors, social and cognitive non-technical skills, and the theoretical underpinnings of behavioural marker systems.
They also plan to begin work on short online human factors modules that can be accessed and completed remotely.
Research identifying factors that influence performance is currently being used as the basis for a CRM / NTS diagnostic tool. Across their research in aviation, Dr Hamlet and Dr Irwin identified a preliminary framework outlining 112 different factors that influenced NTS performance. Ongoing work aims to condense and validate a taxonomy of factors influencing NTS.
Nejc’s current research involves interviews with frontline workers within the energy industry exploring individual and organisational factors affecting safety-related behaviours. The work aims to expand on the understanding of factors affecting the development and propagation of deviant behaviour.
